Access Project Update – March 2021

We are ready to begin work on the next phase.

The funding has been secured, tenders received from three contractors and the contract has been placed with Darroch and Allan of Elgin.
This phase focuses on the provision of disability compliant toilet facilities. This will require the underpinning of the kitchen extension, the conversion of it into two toilets, provision of baby changing facilities, bringing the fire escape up to standard, making the door to the sanctuary soundproof and creating wheelchair spaces in the worship area. The heating, lighting, ventilation, insulating and decorating of the toilet and corridor area will be part of the work. This will achieve some important improvements and repairs, including providing a disabled toilet accessible from the sanctuary.

We are grateful to LDN Architects of Forres for all their ongoing work on this project.

The completion of this phase will be a huge step forward towards achieving our vision of being able to welcome more people to benefit from the use of our church, and enhancing the spiritual and social welfare of the community.

We are most grateful to all who have contributed. There has been superb support from the local community for which we say a huge ‘thank you’. We are pleased to record our thanks to the organisations who have provided or pledged funding. They include: Allchurches Trust Ltd., The Baird Trust, Beatrice Laing Trust, Berry Burn Community Fund, FCC Communities Foundation, The Ferguson Bequest Fund, The Garfield Weston Foundation, Moray Presbytery, Scotland’s Churches Trust.
